IBM Annual Report 2009/Redesign

Just a quick update: Together with Carolin Reisensohn I redesigned the 2009 Annual Report of IBM during last semesters Typography Class. More pictures and info will be found on my website soon. I’m heading to the Motto Bookfair in Berlin today…so maybe I’ll see you there?!

(This is not a) Terror Video

A couple weeks ago I was asked to design a poster, a program and a flyer for an event that shows films of students at Merz Akademie. The result is a folded A1 poster which also holds the flyer, the program and filmstills on the back. The idea was to use a very strong, insisting typeface to indicate the “terror”. The background-image is printed in silver to point out the message that it is actually “not a” terror video.

Berlin Between

During my internship at Daniela Burger in Berlin earlier this year, I was asked to create a visual appearance for a documentary film about Berlin in the 90’s. Due to the content of the film I decided to design a type that was handmade and had a metal-/future-like-feeling to it. In addition to that I made a couple poster-drafts that could work well as silkscreen prints (except for the one with the color-photos of course). As far as I know the type will be used in the later outcome.

Theater Rampe

Together with Daniel Schenk I redesigned the Logo, Program and Tickets for “Theater Rampe” in Stuttgart. It was a self-initiated project for Typography class. The Program is a 2-color Silkscreen Print. Here are some making-of pictures and  the final result. See more detailed photos on my website!

Battle of Symbols

Look what I just found in my archives. The “Urban Chess Game” which was played during a workshop in December 2008 at Merz Akademie, Stuttgart and hosted by Vinca and Gon from Metahaven. We were split in 2 teams. The black and the white team, of course. We would then design a system of symbols which would represent the traditional chess figures and start playing by using the chessboard on googlemaps and hanging A1 Posters (chessfigures) in the city. Our concept was to use characteristics of the city that was on our side of the board. See what the black team had to offer:
